How to develop psychic powers

Why would anyone want to develop his psychic powers? This is what comes to your mind after reading the title. Good question, but what we do not realize is how often we use our psychic abilities. In that sense we are all psychics. Amazing, but true. We make day to day decisions based on our psychic perceptions and abilities. Every one of us has these abilities but we have no idea when we are using it. We all are at some or the other level of psychic growth. Do you know that these powers can be used to enhance life? Abilities such as ESP, clairvoyance, telepathy are a result of spiritual awakening and consciousness.

The Space is full of unused energy which is waiting to be tapped and any one can acquire it. The basic concept here is that every living thing whether it is humans, animals or plants, are connected to each other by a common thread of Cosmic Consciousness. We can relate to everything in this universe, by developing our sixth sense.

There is nothing “special” about these “Special powers”. Most people have these abilities. Some are naturally gifted; others have to work on it. One needs to recognize the ability first. That requires paying attention to all thoughts and information, not to filter out data and not to ignore that ‘hunch’ or ‘gut feel’. Then the next step would be to enhance it. It is not something that one can learn from books. Meditation is one such technique which strengthens connection with ones’ spiritual self. Deep Concentration is required to relax mind and body. A calm mind and relaxed environment makes this task easier. Be Aware of your surroundings in terms of smells and sounds. Regular Practice increases one’s intuitive and psychic abilities. Moreover, the person must have the willingness and inclination to develop.

Psychic powers are like normal traits. Like other five senses it is our sixth sense! They can improve your ability to communicate with others and infuse compassion. So, use it for self enhancement.

List of Psychic Abilities

The list of psychic abilities is quite long, with new abilities being discovered all the time. The following list of abilities organized with the idea of the more basic leading to the more focused abilities requiring more practice to master dependably. It is important to realize that this list of psychic abilities is not meant to be complete, but to inspire one's own journey into the psychic realms. Perhaps you yourself will discover abilities uniquely your own.
The first power most beginners develop is aura reading, or sensing energy, thus it is first on the list of psychic abilities. Reading energy, either by visual colors, or through another sense, allows one to understand it's properties and gain information from it. Sensing the energies of a person or place can warn one of hidden dangers, or allow on to be at ease in a situation that seems tense but in actuality may not be. This can make one much more effective in interpersonal relationships, business, and in their traveling.
Related to sensing energy are the abilities to gain deeper more precise knowledge. Telepathy and empathy, are psychic abilities that allow one to sense thoughts and emotions, both in a person or in a location. Like sensing energy, this provides valuable information, perhaps revealing the reason why a certain energy lingers in a place, or the most prevalent feelings or thoughts in a person you first meet. This can be practiced with a friend, trying to accurately focus and read them.
Next on the list of psychic abilities is psychometry. Once again, a refinement of energy reading, this power allows one to read an object either by touch or focusing on it. The famous Zener cards were developed as a tool to test one's ability to read the picture on a face down card and similar testing methods could be devised to practice the ability on one's own.
As one progresses, one learns to sense things at a distance through visualization. This power, called clairsentience, allows one to project a sense to another location and gain information. Clairvoyance is the most common of these abilities and involves remote seeing. This psychic power is an easy one to practice. When projecting a sense, have a friend there verify later, or perhaps use it in a place where you can do your own verification.
And no list of psychic abilities can be complete without including the power of astral projection. It is, however a difficult power to master, despite how simple it may appear on television! It requires one to completely relax mind and body, to release themselves so they can project not just thoughts, or senses, but their full consciousness to another location and maintain awareness. A rewarding discipline on it's own, it nevertheless requires discipline and a lot of practice. It is, however, an excellent method of exploring the vast world of the psychic.
